Quality Control

Knitting Lapping Diagrams

fabric knitting With the exception of the very simplest structures, it is too time consuming to represent warp knitted fabric using stitch or loop diagrams. For this reason two methods of fabric representation are commonly used a. Lapping diagrams, b. Numerical representation.

Winding Up

embroidery finishing Winding up has to be carried out if design size exceeds size of embroidery area.

Zigzag or Wavy Twills

fabric weaving Wavy twills are also known as pointed twills. In these classes of twill weaves the twill progresses in one direction for half of the repeat and then is reversed for the next half of the repeat. The reversal of the twill may be done in a regular or irregular manner primarily considering the series of threads that predominate the face of the fabric. Thus warp way reversal is where the warp predominates over the weft and weft way reversal where the weft predominates over the warp.

Feeding Systems

apparel Material feed is the controlled movement of the material being sewn from one stitch position to the next. Different feeding mechanisms available are for sewing fabrics. Some of them are Manual feed, Feed dog, Drop feed, Needle Feed (Upper pivot needle Feed, Central pivot needle Feed, Parallel drive needle Feed), Wheel feed, Rotary feed, Upper Feed(Vibrating Presser Foot, Alternating Presser Foot, Top Feed, Jump Foot, Walking Foot, Spring action asking Foot, Driven walking Foot, Wheel feed.

Angles of twill weave

fabric weaving The angle of twill weave is determined by the amount of shift in the points of interlacing.A one pick one end shift twill weaveis called 45 degree twill.A twill weave which has more than one pick shift and one end shift is called steep twill; if the shift is more than one end and one pick it is called reclining twill.

Plastic Polybag

apparel Plastic bags are made from polyethylene. During processing, the polyethylene might be treated with any number of additives. For perfect presentation at the point of sale and protection against dirt and moisture garments are individually packed in poly bag, or multi packs or assorted packs.

Nips

apparel Nips are small cuts put into the outside edge of the fabric with the point of your shears. These are placed wherever the 5/8" stitching starts or stops at the edge of a seamline. When starting and ending a seam, if you match these two nips on each layer of fabric, all of your seam lines will be accurate.

Manmade Protein Fibers

fiber Manmade protein fibers are produced by dissolving proteins like casein from milk, soya bean protein, and zein from corn in diluted alkali and forcing these solutions through a spinneret into an acid-formaldehyde coagulating bath.
