Kenaf Fibers

Kenaf Plants Kenaf, plant of the mallow family, native to the Old World tropics. Also known as brown Indian hemp, kenaf has long been grown in India and other warm countries for its brittle fiber, used in making coarse fabrics and rope. The plant may be either annual or perennial, bearing prickly stems and large yellow flowers with crimson centers. Kenaf fiber is now produced in certain regions as a substitute for jute.
