Open-End Spinning

spinning spun-yarn yarn The first functioning of rotor spinning ,machine was presented at the ITMA in 1967.Yarn spinning according to the rotor spinning principle predominates for all non conventional spinning methods. It omits the step of forming a roving. After drafting, the sliver is fed into a rotary beater. This device ensures that the fibers are beaten into a thin supply which enters a duct and gets deposited on the sides of the disc(rotor). The transportation of the fibers is achieved through air currents.

Fusing Quality Control

apparel Since fusing is a crucial process in garment manufacturing, it is not completely without risk. For this reason it is necessary to follow, aside from regular maintenance, a few important rules to secure fusing quality

Re-Arranged Twills

fabric weaving These twills are obtained by arrangement of a continuous twill either warp way or weft way. There arrangement is normally done in a particular order or sequence. Rearranged twills are of two types Satin/sateen weaves and Corkscrew weaves.

Miscellaneous Fibres

fiber Fibres which do not logically "fit" under other classifications such as natural, manmade, mineral etc. such novaloid, carbon, poly-phenylenedibenzimidazole polyimide fibres etc. are categorized under miscellaneous fibres.

Textile Design

apparel assorted Design is any arrangement of part, form, colour, fabric and line. For example, to create a versionor a style. This definition is applicable for apparel or clothing. In general, design is arrangementor putting out creative ideas on paper or any of the three-dimensional form. There are different types of designs such as industrial design, graphic design, textile design, fashion design, etc.

Selvedge

apparel-making fabric weaving Selvedge are special hooked needle driven by a cam which produces, after cutting, the insertion of the protruding thread end into the subsequent shed, thus forming a stronger edge. The basic function of any selvedge is to lock the outside warp threads of a piece of cloth and so prevent fraying. The selvedge should be strong enough to withstand the strains of the stenter in the finishing process. - The selvedge should have a neat and uniform appearance.

Yarn guide movement around a knitting needle

fabric knitting In warp knitting a yarn guide wraps the yarn around the needle hook, thus forming a loop. However, to form a fabric, the yarn guide must wrap the yarn around a different needle during the next course. The yarn guides, therefore, must be displaced laterally during knitting. Different warp knitted structures are produced by varying the magnitude of their lateral displacement. Therefore warp knitted structures can be described by noting the guide bar displacement.

Sewing Needles

apparel A sewing needle is a long slender tool with a pointed tip. The needle must be able to penetrate the material being sewn, by pushing the yarns aside according to the application, without damaging it. The various parts of the needle are: The shank, The shoulder, The blade, Long Groove, Short Groove, The eye, The point and the Tip.

Weaving Operations

fabric weaving In weaving, no matter what type of weaving is being done, four major operations are performed in sequence and are continuously repeated, they are Shedding, Picking, Beating Up, Taking Up and Letting Off

Fabric Finishes for Enhancing Appearance

finishing There are finishes applied to fabrics to enhance the look and feel of the fabric, in other ways the finishes neither strengthen the quality of the fabric nor they are done to transform the fabric for special purposes such as the fire retardant finish.
