Geocell Infill Quantity, Tonnage & Panel Count

Order loose, pay by the tonne, place compacted. The three numbers are not the same.

Layer Area & depth

mm
mm

Infill placed above the cell walls to protect them, if the design calls for it. Enter 0 for none.

Infill & Panels From the supplier data
t/m³

From the infill supplier or a site density test.

%

How much more volume the infill takes loose than compacted.

t
m

From the geocell data sheet for the cell size you use.

Loose Infill to Order

— m³

Compacted volume plus the loose-to-compacted allowance

Compacted volume = area x (cell depth + overfill); loose volume = compacted x (1 + allowance); tonnage = compacted volume x compacted bulk density; trucks and panels are rounded up to whole units. Cell walls take a small share of the volume, which this ignores, so the figures err on the side of ordering slightly more. Panel count is plain area division: add for overlaps, stapled joints, cut edges around curves and anchors, and for any area left unexpanded. Panel size, density and bulking come from your supplier, not from this tool. **A quantity take-off, not a design.**
