Geogrid Reinforced Soil Wall: Layers, Grid Pieces, Rolls, Area & Reinforced Fill

Geogrid is cut in pieces that run back into the fill. A roll gives whole pieces, and what is left at its end is offcut.

Every dimension is the wall design's: the spacing, the grid length and the grid type come from the designer's calculation, and the tool has no figure for any of them. Layers are the reinforced height over the spacing, rounded up, with every layer the same length; walls with longer grids low down or a stepped base need a count per zone. Pieces are cut across the roll length, laid side by side along the wall at the roll width, and a roll gives whole pieces only. Laid grid is pieces times piece length times roll width, scaled by coverage; the last piece in each layer may be trimmed, which this counts as laid. **This is a quantity take-off, not a wall design: it does not check stability or the grid strength.**
