Sizing
The size box wets the warp; the squeeze rolls decide how much stays. Pick-up is a pressure setting, not a recipe line.

Liquor retained on the warp after the nip
The exponent and reference point must be fitted on your own machine — squeeze roll hardness, warp sett and liquor temperature all move the curve, and an unfitted exponent will be wrong by more than the pressure adjustment you are trying to make. Rising pressure lowers pick-up but also drives size onto the surface rather than into the yarn; check penetration as well as add-on.
