Heat flux figures at the contact look implausibly large because the patch is tiny and the contact is intermittent — the traveller cools on every revolution and conducts into the ring. Use the number to compare settings and traveller weights, not as an absolute temperature, and watch for the classic burning signature of speed raised without lightening the traveller.
