Nanotechnology Benefits in Fabric Formation

Nanometer (Nm) resins have been shown to modify fiber behavior in existing textile yarn. Incorporation of nanometer (Nm) resins in conventional warp size formulations improve weaving performance, improve fabric quality and reduce cost.

Environmental Aspects in Textile Industry: Ecological Hazards and Remedial Measures

Among many pollution-creating industries, textile has a larger share in terms of its impact with regard to noise, air, and effluent. It is, therefore, felt worthwhile to study the environmental hazards associated with various operations of textiles. In this paper, pollution arising out of noise and air is discussed. Areas of concern and their appropriate rectifying procedures are also taken into account.

Ecological degradation happens in natural fiber right from cultivation to finishing of the ultimate product. Prominent parameters and the possible package of corrective measures are highlighted. Synthetic fiber industry is not an exception to environmental pollution and therefore various pollution-creating activities are pointed out. Management of various textile wastes is also mentioned in this paper.

Arrangement and Schemtics of Ring Spinning

The traveller speed in a ring frame is the main limitation in achieving higher spindle speed because of the frictional resistance of traveller over the ring flange. The design, metallurgy, surface finish and breaking-in of the rings decide the speed at which a ring frame can be run without excessive end breaks. It is important to understand the schematics of the ring travellers in order to achieve maximum productivity from the ring spinning machines.

Ring Spinning Process

The commonly used, time-tested spinning technique, ring spinning is one of oldest machine oriented spinning techniques used for staple fiber spinning. The staple fiber such as cotton and wool has to go through a series of processes until reaching the finished product or the yarn package.

Ring Spinning Pros and Cons

The ring spinning system is the oldest spinning system that remains dominant because of the high-quality yarns it produces. Ring spinning has various advantages besides disadvantages. It is the most flexible system from the viewpoints of fibers which can be used and the extent of the yarn counts which can be produced.

Winding Machine Classification and Faults

Classification of winding machines broadly based on package, winding, drive, and type of yarn used. Also, the various faults of the winding are specified. Some common causes of the faulty winding are also discussed.

Types of Yarn Winding

There are two types of winding machines: precision winders and drum winders. Precision winders, used primarily for filament yarn, have a traverse driven by a cam that is synchronized with the spindle and produces packages with a diamond-patterned wind. Drum winders are used principally for spun yarns; the package is driven by frictional contact between the surface of the package and the drum.

Yarn Formation Systems

There are various commonly used popular Yarn Formation Systems. Some of them are Cotton woolen or worsted, staple, Filament yarn formation systems. Also some of the common types of yarns like mercerized, dyed, grindle or twisted, yarns are discussed in this page.
