Hot Melt PUR Lamination Dot Density & Application Rate

Every dot is a bond and a blocked pore. Dot lamination is the compromise, and coverage percentage is where you set it.

Dots are treated as cylinders, which over-states volume slightly against a real domed dot. Open area is a geometric ceiling on breathability, not a moisture vapour transmission rate — MVTR has to be measured on the finished laminate. Reactive PUR cures with ambient moisture: bond figures apply after full cure, not off the line.
