Emission factors are the whole answer and they vary enormously by fibre, origin and grid — conventional cotton, recycled polyester and virgin nylon are not within a factor of five of each other. Use factors from a recognised database with the vintage recorded, and treat this as a screening model rather than a reportable inventory.
