Methods of Garment Fusing

All the descriptions of the fusing processes that have been included have represented it as a single piece of interlining, laid resin side down, on a single piece of garment fabric, laid right side down. This is referred to as single fusing and it is the safest in the sense that it is easiest to set the press conditions to achieve the correct temperature at the glue line. Some other methods of fusing in garment construction are Reserve fusing, Sandwich fusing, double fusing.

Garment Fusing Technology

Garment manufacturing cannot be imagined without fusing these days. Fusing could, therefore, be expected to have become a matured technology by now. Changes in the material, in quality expectations and textile care methods, entail more and more unpleasant problems, which are often realized after an entire batch of defective pieces has been produced.

Preparing for Layout in Garment Making

Before we lay out the fabric one needs to do the needful preparation for Fabric layout in garment manufacturing like folding the fabric correctly, pinning the pattern with the fabric, placing pattern pieces, matching grains by measuring and securing the pins to the grain lines and also that the pins should be properly placed and should be in right quantity.

The Procedure of Cutting Layout of Fabric: Optimizing Efficiency and Reducing Waste

The procedure of cutting layout of fabric is a vital aspect of textile and garment manufacturing that directly impacts cost efficiency, sustainability, and product quality. By understanding the procedures, considerations, and best practices involved, manufacturers can optimize their cutting layouts, reduce waste, and contribute to both economic and environmental sustainability in the fashion industry. Efficient cutting layouts not only save costs but also align with the growing demand for sustainable and responsible production practices.

Layout/Cutting Marking in Garment Making

After purchasing fabric, pattern, notions, and preparing the fabric (on grain and re-shrunk / washed), you are ready to do the pattern layout. A layout is a plan for the placement of pattern pieces on the fabric. There are various categories of layout marking like grainlines, place of fold brackets, notches etc. There are also various methods of cutting marking such as single size, multi-size, and cutting in a particular body size.

Fabric Cutting Techniques

There are 2 techniques of cutting fabric like portable cutting, stationary cutting. With the advancement in technology there have been improvements in fabric techniques also like Automated, Numerically Controlled cutting systems, which has Automatic blade cutting, Laser cutting, Water jet cutting, Die cutting etc.
