Higg FEM Higg Facility Environmental Module
Measures a manufacturing facility's environmental performance - energy, water, wastewater, emissions, waste and chemical management. An assessment delivered through a commercial platform rather than a published standard document. A facility or brand completes it, a verifier checks the responses, and the output is a score rather than a pass or a certificate.

What this standard is for
Where it is used
The most requested of the five by a long way, and the one a mill is most likely to be asked for by name.
Why it matters
Covers the same ground as several standards already in this register but answers a different question: it scores how a facility performs rather than deciding whether it passes, so a FEM score is not a conformance claim and cannot be substituted for one.
What to watch for
The only module of the five with a publicly stated version, currently 4.0. A score from an earlier version is not comparable with a 4.0 score, which matters whenever a brand tracks a supplier year on year.
