A textile recycling line tears clippings, rags and waste yarn back into fibre with spiked or pinned cylinders, and garnetting machines open the material further into loose fibre or a web. The recovered fibre feeds spinning, often rotor spinning, or nonwoven and filling products, so the line stands before the blowroom or nonwoven card. Hourly throughput, number of tearing stages and fibre length retained are compared.
