ISO 1833-10 Textiles — Quantitative chemical analysis — Part 10: Mixtures of triacetate or polylactide with certain other fibres (method using dichloromethane)
Triacetate or polylactide dissolved in dichloromethane. The polylactide case matters more each year as PLA appears in compostable and bio-based textiles, and it is easy to misread as polyester by microscopy alone. The residue is weighed and corrected by the factor d that the standard gives for that fibre in that reagent; the dissolved component is the difference. Identify the fibres by microscopy first - the method assumes you already know which two you have.
