ISO 1833-24 Textiles — Quantitative chemical analysis — Part 24: Mixtures of polyester and certain other fibres (method using phenol and tetrachloroethane)
Polyester dissolved in phenol with tetrachloroethane. The method for proving polyester content when the other component would not survive the sulfuric acid route - it dissolves the polyester rather than the cellulose, which is the opposite way round from Part 11. The residue is weighed and corrected by the factor d that the standard gives for that fibre in that reagent; the dissolved component is the difference. Identify the fibres by microscopy first - the method assumes you already know which two you have.
