| C2C | Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard | NEQ | The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and SLCP have signed a memorandum of understanding under which the Converged Assessment Framework is recognised as an accepted data source for the social fairness requirements of Cradle to Cradle Certified. It answers one of that standard's five categories and none of the other four, so an SLCP assessment shortens a C2C certification without going any way towards it. |
What this standard is for
Why it matters
It issues no certificate and sets no pass mark - the output is verified data that many buyers accept in place of their own audits. A facility can complete it and be told nothing about whether it complied, because compliance is the buyer's judgement to make from the data.
What to watch for
Filing this beside a certification standard invites the wrong reading. There is no such thing as SLCP certification, so a buyer asking for "the SLCP" wants a verified data set, not a pass. The edition here comes from the publisher's pages rather than from a document cover, because the framework is distributed through accredited hosts rather than published for download.
