A package and fibre drier dries dyed yarn packages, loose fibre or tops by forcing hot air through the material, often on the dyeing carrier itself. It follows hydroextraction after yarn or fibre dyeing and differs from the radio-frequency and vacuum drier classes in using hot air flow rather than a high-frequency field or reduced pressure. Batch capacity, drying time and energy use are compared.
