ISO 1833-28 Textiles — Quantitative chemical analysis — Part 28: Mixtures of chitosan with certain other fibres (method using diluted acetic acid)
Chitosan dissolved in dilute acetic acid. Chitosan appears in antimicrobial and medical textiles, usually in small proportions, and this part exists because it dissolves in conditions that leave the ground fibre untouched. The residue is weighed and corrected by the factor d that the standard gives for that fibre in that reagent; the dissolved component is the difference. Identify the fibres by microscopy first - the method assumes you already know which two you have.
