ISO 2859-1 Sampling procedures for inspection by attributes — Part 1: Sampling schemes indexed by acceptance quality limit (AQL) for lot-by-lot inspection
The AQL tables behind almost every final garment inspection: how many pieces to pull from a lot, and how many defects allow it to still be accepted.

Equivalents
| Body | Number | Equivalence | Deviation |
|---|---|---|---|
| SAC | GB/T 2828.1 | IDT | Identical adoption. Confirm the edition years align before citing in a contract. |
Verification coverage
Checked against SAC. Not yet checked: ASTM, AATCC, BIS, JIS, EN, DIN — an absent row here does not mean no equivalent exists.
What this standard is for
Where it is used
Third-party final random inspections, and the inspection clause of most garment purchase contracts.
Why it matters
AQL decides whether a finished shipment ships. The inspection level and AQL numbers in a contract are worth more than most of the technical specification, because they set how much non-conformity is contractually tolerated.
What to watch for
AQL is a property of the lot, not of a carton. Splitting a shipment into small lots to pass inspection changes the statistics and is usually a contractual breach.
