A needle detector passes finished garments or packed goods through a magnetic sensing tunnel, or over a detecting table, to find broken needles and other ferrous metal fragments. It sits at the end of garment production, after pressing and packing, as a safety check before shipment, particularly for garments for babies and children. Detection sensitivity, tunnel width and conveyor speed are compared.
