Tufting machine
A tufting machine inserts pile yarn into a primary backing fabric with rows of reciprocating needles, while loopers or hooks hold the yarn to form loop or cut pile. It produces most carpets and many rugs, taking yarn from BCF or spun carpet yarn lines, and the tufted fabric then goes on to dyeing, secondary backing and finishing. Working width, gauge, stitch rate and patterning capability are compared.
